Sorghum Upma / Porridge
Take 1 cup jowar, soak in water for 30 mins. Cook in rice cooker, stove-top or clay pot with 3 cups of water. Add pinch of salt. Cover & cook on medium heat till grains are soft for 10 mins. On another stove, heat oil in kadhai. Add mustard seeds, dried red chilli, curry leaves to oil. Saute for a minute before adding green chilli, ginger, onion. Mix well. Cook for a minute. Add vegetables of your choice. Mix, cook for 5 mins. Add turmeric, salt, and boiled peas. Mix & cook for a few mins. Add cooked jowar & lime juice. Mix well, cook for 1 min. Once packet is opened, store in glass jar or air tight plastic jar. Consume quickly or Refrigerate. Residue-free produce catches weevils easily. Composting produce is the best option if spoiled.
